The Monastery of Saint Anthony is a Coptic Orthodox monastery in an oasis in the Egyptian desert, founded in 361 AD by the followers of Saint Anthony. The monastery is one of the most famous in Egypt. Vineyards and palm groves are lovingly laid out here. The heart of the complex is the Apostolic Church with 12 domes. The grotto of St. Anthony is located outside the monastery and can be reached by a steep path. We continue our exploration tour, driving around the mountain range. On the way to St. Paul’s Monastery, we will stop at a good restaurant to relax and have a delicious lunch. The monastery of St. Paul was built by hermits in the 4th century. Saint Paul lived alone with God in a cave for 90 years. After sightseeing, we return to Hurghada.
